Religion Education Program

We encourage participation in our religious education program for children and teenagers grades 1-12. Children in grades 1-8 receive instruction on Sunday morning 11AM-Noon. High school students receive faith formation among the activities of the HCYO in the early evening. Very young children are invited to Vacation Bible School during the summer vacation.
The children and teenagers of our parish, whether they are students at any school, private, Catholic or public, must participate in our programs of Sacramental Preparation for Baptism, Eucharist, Confirmation and Reconciliation. Unbaptized persons over the age of 9 customarily enter the Church through the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. However, for children or teenagers might receive part of this experience in conjunction with our programs of Religious Education.
For these programs we rely on volunteer catechists who are given training by parish personnel and teach according to the curriculum of the Diocese of Buffalo. Catechists are encouraged to participate in programs of Catechists Certification at parish expense.
Retreats, missions and programs of adult enrichment are offered on several occasions throughout the years. Details are published in the parish bulletin.
